DSP — the studio rack

StartSWest ·

This thread is for the DSP tab.

What it's for: shaping the sound with a studio rack — eleven stages: Normalizer, Denoise, De-esser, Exciter, Bass Forge, Equaliser, Bass Punch, Dimension, Room, Maximizer and Master. Every stage starts off except the Normalizer, which only ever turns a hot record down.

How it works: on the FluidEQ Engine the rack runs on everything the computer plays. On Equalizer APO it applies to songs played in the Library only. Every stage draws what it is actually doing while it works, gain match takes added level back off so switching a stage compares the sound and not the volume, and Isolate plays only what a stage removes or adds. A whole rack saves, names and exports as a chain file, and the presets each bring a rack of their own.

Ask here about any stage, about chains, and about what the rack is doing to a record.
