This thread is for the Room.
What it's for: turning headphones into a listening room. Every channel becomes a speaker standing around you: stereo is two speakers in front of you (or fills the room if you ask), a 5.1 film is five speakers and the sub, a 7.1 game the whole ring.
How it works: it is a stage of the DSP rack, heard through a measured head and the walls of a room. Twenty-four rooms to start from — eleven classics and thirteen newer ones — and everything a room is made of is on its page: where each speaker stands, how far, its level, the walls, the space and the bass management. A short listening test picks the head that puts sounds in front of you, by ear. All of it is free.
Ask here about rooms, the listening test, and surround from films and games.
